Aikido is a Budo (martial art) created by
Morihei Ueshiba(1883-1969). When he
was young,
he strove for practice of the martial
art,
and he studied jujutsu and Kenjutsu.
Then,
it was subject to direct learning and
technically
big influence to the Soukaku Takeda
which
is the Daito style jujutsu restorer. The Aikikai Foundation, officially recognized by the Japanese government in 1940, was founded in order to preserve and promote the ideals of the true Aikido created by the Founder. As the Aikido World Headquarters, it is the parent organization for the development and expansion of Aikido throughout the world. |

Jodo is a Budo (martial art) created by Gonnosuke
Katsukichi, specifically to defeat
another
in the early 1600′s. , He reconsidered
the
design of some original weapons; JO;
4 shaku
2 sun and 1 bu in length; and to finally
combine the three martial arts of the
yari
(spear), naginata (halberd) and tachi
(sword)
to synthesise one martial art, Jodo.
With
this accomplished, it is said that
he went
on to break Musashi’s technique. In the 1968 the All Japan Kendo Federation recognized the importance of Jodo. Accordingly, 12 representative forms were taken from the Shindo Muso Ryu to form The All Japan Kendo Federations standard Jodo forms called Seitei Kata. |
